Our Story
Lizzy Anche Foundation (LAF) is a non-profit organization established in 2008 by Elizabeth Anche. It officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria under registration number RC 108931 in 2018 dedicated to women’s economic empowerment, girls’ education, and health initiatives.
Our journey began in December 2013 with an empowerment project called DRESS FOR LIFE, which received support from The United States Mission in Nigeria.
The project’s initial objective was to empower women and girls by equipping them with essential business skills, enabling them to achieve financial independence and self-reliance.
Through DRESS FOR LIFE, we fostered economic development in 6 local communities in Kaduna state, encouraging women to replicate the acquired skills and actively participate in various economic activities. Additionally, we emphasized the importance of education by encouraging girls to save a portion of their earnings to support their education expenses.
When LAF was established, we continued with the goal of DRESS FOR LIFE and remain committed to empowering women and girls by creating opportunities for economic growth and access to quality health and education.
In addition to the DRESS FOR LIFE empowerment project, the Lizzy Anche Foundation (LAF) offers various other programs and initiatives to impact our communities positively. Some of these programs include:
Our Core Areas
LAF recognizes the importance of education in transforming lives. We support underprivileged children and girls by offering scholarships, educational materials, health education, and mentoring programs. LAF aims to ensure that girls have access to quality and affordable education that will give them the opportunity to reach their full potential.
LAF conducts skills training programs to equip individuals, especially women and youth, with practical skills that enhance their employability and entrepreneurship prospects. We offer training in vocational skills, financial literacy, and business management. We strive to create a pathway for sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment by empowering women with these skills.
Good health is the foundation for a prosperous life. LAF organizes health awareness campaigns, medical screenings, and health education programs to promote preventive healthcare and well-being. We also collaborate with healthcare providers to offer women and communities medical assistance and food support.
LAF actively engages in community development initiatives to address social challenges and improve living conditions. We collaborate with local stakeholders, organizations, and volunteers to implement projects focusing on community development, renewable energy, access to agricultural facilities, and environmental sustainability.
Advocacy and Awareness: LAF advocates for social justice, gender equality, and the rights of marginalized individuals and communities. We raise awareness through campaigns, workshops, and public engagements to address gender-based violence, discrimination, and inequality. LAF strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society by amplifying women’s voices.
